Auto-ID stands for all kinds of automatic identified data which could be barcode, chip-card, RFID, OCR or on magnetic material. High Tec Auto-ID manufacture are joining the world wide AIM community.
The world wide community of Automatic Identification manufacturer is the AIM Global.
The AIM community is a conjunction of most famous manufacturer of equipment for automatic identification. Most of all international rules for AutoID standards are created and decided by AIM members. The community is diverted into country sections.

Chip-Card
The Chip-Card is a smart combination of compact design and high performance. The construction is quiet simple. Below the golden contacts there is a complex electronic. The most simple version is just a memory. In high secure cases, there will be a complete CPU like a PC with operating system, memory and encryption. More and more the chip with its external contacts will be substituted by RFID cards, to make the access more reliable.
Magnetic-cards
Magnetic-cards are plastic or paper cards, which have a magnetic stripe same as tape recorders. In most cases there are three tracks in use. Track 1 can bee used for alphanumeric coding. Track 2+3 is only numeric. There are two magnetic qualities: HighCo and LowCo, which identifies the magnetic strength to be needed to write and delete magnetic information.
