Cologne (Germany), 4 May 2009 / The hand-held RFID and barcode scanner SCANNDY and smartSCANNDY of the German-based company PANMOBIL are the world’s only barcode and RFID scanners with the advantages of a real USB-stick.
Until today, getting collected data out of the scanning device into a computer system has always required the installation of drivers or other software onto the system. With PANMOBIL's new USB-stick functionality, no installations are needed, and even needing an administrator's assistance is something of the past.
Simply plug the SCANNDY device into the USB-port on your computer, or forklift terminals or other devices. The scanned data can then be directly processed into Microsoft Excel, Word and other programs. The data file is available to your computer system in the same way as any file on your hard disk or external storage device is.
The USB-stick function - the easiest way to transmit data - makes work more fail-safe and easy, a great help to any user.
1-D and 2-D barcodes and RFID-data can be saved without any additional time and can be compared with any uploaded reference data by its custom-programmable feature and 8 GB memory capacity. The high-tech scanner of the SCANNDY and smartSCANNDY can read up to 30,000 scans in a sequence of a 4-second pulse in only one battery charging. The smartSCANNDY and SCANNDY can also be easily configured to use an internal TCP/IP Protocol interface, which enables the SCANNDYs to be addressed and directly available all over the world – without any additional installation.
On top of it all, the SCANNDY and smartSCANNDY are available in various versions, ones that can also transmit data via Bluetooth, USB COM, HID, USB Ethernet or even Easy-Batch, i.e. synchronizing data automatically.
Due to its robust but soft rubber body, the smartSCANNDY is ideal for usage in warehouses and in the field of logistics. Since it is just so easy to work with, the SCANNDYs of our SCANNDY family can be further used for a great number of other tasks, including complex operations in healthcare, production or transportation.
