SCANNDY offers a wide spectrum of ways to communicate.

SCANNDY im Kabeleinsatz

Depending on distance and existing communication-infrastructures there are different techniques available:

1 SCANNDY can be used locally in direct connection to a terminal/PC, so the interface will be wired RS232/485, USB or keyboard wedge.

2 The SCANNDY integrated Bluetooth module will do a wireless communication of up to 100m. Thanks to the flexible SCANNDY operating system, the communication can be done direct to a BT equipped PC ( or dongle ), via a mobile phone with BT to access the host computer or Internet like a modem, or via SCANNDY cradle with integrated BT receiver.

3 In combination with SCANNDY cradle, with integrated Bluetooth receiver, the connectivity opens up flexible partnerships. Data coming and going to SCANNDY now can be interfaced via the cradle through RS232/485, USB or Ethernet. In case of Ethernet, no PC is needed, because the cradle supports (thanks to its ARM 9 CPU) TCP/IP protocol.  It will obtain its own IP address, which can be changed with PANMOBIL software package. The SSL encoding can be turned on for safe data exchange.

4 In case of an available WLAN, SCANNDY will operate in 802.11xx standard as member of the net in its covered area. SCANNDY is a reliable partner of existing- and planned Logistic systems.

5 In case of collecting and updating data, anywhere at anyplace, the use of the worldwide mobile GSM/GPRS network is the right application. If SCANNDY is used with GPRS TECPACK module, SCANNDY users can access the home based database 24 hours, 365 days anywhere world wide. On request PANMOBIL also installs the interface server between all mobile connected SCANNDY units and the existing enterprise systems such as SAP / BAN / or any Microsoft operating system.

6 Especially in the industrial enviroment RF communication on 433 Mhz is very popular because of less interference with existing Rf like WLAN, GPRS, Bluetooth and other wireless systems. One more reasen to use 433 Mhz for long distance communincation

7 USB QUAD

  • USB Stick (filesystem)
Scanndy will be registered as a disk (like an external hard disk) when connected to the PC via USB port, same as a USB Memonry stick. Another benefit is, that no driver and no software has to be installed. All data are available as a standard data file and can be accesed easily by any user application software or database.
  • USB COM (virtual serial interface)
The RFID-Barcodescanner communicates via USB hardware interface but will be seen as a serial input from PC side.
  • USB HID (Human interface)
The scanned data will be transferd to the running PC application simultanesously like a simple keystroke.
  • USB Ethernet (Worlwide accessible by fix IP adress)
In case the RFID Reader /Barcode Scanner is connected to a PC it can be reached Worldwirde like a Ethernet interface. All stored data in the SCANNDY are now accessible worldwide.

As a TECPACK option, SCANNDY can be extended with an Infrared IRDA interface to communicate with mobile printers.
