Different achievements of Gun and Basic
Two version of SCANNDY are presently avaliable. The “Basic” version is a very handy version for the "always with you" use. The “Gun” version is made for the continuous warehouse-usage with an ergonomical trigger button.
Because of different housing both versions need their own Recharge- and Communication units: Cradle-basic and Cradle-gun.
The big footed housing enables the presentation-mode constellation. In presentation-mode SCANNDY is positioned opposite to the user, enabling to read barcode or RFID hands free.
Pending on where and for which application the cradle is used, there is a large variety of local- or net connections. The cradle can also being used for only recharging.
Version: Recharge- and Communication unit
Recharge: All cardle versions are able to recharge the internal SCANNDY battery. The recharge control LED in SCANNDY will indicate the state of charging.
The additional recharging slot allows simultaneous recharging of a spare battery.
The recharge control LED in the cradle will indicate the state of charging .
All come with a separate power supply.
Bluetooth: All cradle version can be equipped with Bluetooth communication modules.
Benifts are: SCANNDY with Bluetooth can direct communicate with the cradle. Referring to the chosen way of communication, the cradle will be connected to the host computer via USB/RS232/RS485/keyboard or direct Ethernet using TCP/IP protocol to access to Internet. So SCANNDY can be direct connected via its cradle though Internet to a database which may be located on the other side of the earth by a simple scan. SCANNDY does get in touch with its PANMOBIL communication technology to any computer within 1000mm or 10.000km range.
Version: Local connection
The following ways of local communication are available:
RS232/RS485: The cable to host is a Dsub 9 Pin, standard PC version.
Keyboard wedge: The used wedge cable has to be plugged in-between PC keyboard and PC. All data send from the cradle ( SCANNDY ) will be transferred to the PC in the same way as keying in data via keyboard. Benefit for going this easy way is, that no additional software has to be installed or changed at PC side.
USB: The USB cable comes together with driver for Windows PC to enable bidirectional communication between cradle and PC.
Version: Net-communication
The version SCANNDYnet allows the following connection:
Thanks to the cradle ARM9 CPU the communication can be encrypted on request via Ethernet. Because of the implemented TCP/IP protocol and the user free selectable IP address ( via browser ) SCANNDY cradle can be reached from any place of the world.
Installation is as easy as installing a WLAN access point because of the build in user-friendly browser functionality.
Different encryptions can be chosen.
Version: Recharging only
In case SCANNDY will only be recharged, which frequently is used, when communication is GPRS or Bluetooth, or an additional recharging unit is required fare away from home base.
