April 24, 2014

AIM association concludes consistent AutoID standards. The current AIM forum (“Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility”) in Karlsruhe concludes the support of the new interoperability standard for the industry. The nomination “OPC-UA” (OPC Unified Architecture) wants to link the AIM as well as the OPC-Foundation intensively together with the RFID- and Barcode technology. Goal of this nomination is the standardization with AutoID devices within the industrial and commercial use. A worldwide overlapping use of AutoID technology should be possible without the need to use a special communication software.

AIM working group “System Integration” gives a decisive development push

Uwe Steinkrauss, managing director of the ascolab GmbH talked in his lecture about the interoperability standard and the communication between particulars protected systems which are supposed to handle everything, starting off from the easiest sensor till the complex industry control. For the future, the user does not have to think about where his AutoID reader comes from and how it is technical assessable. The writing and collecting of AutoID data is always the same procedure, that is why an error-free device integration into a system topography is possible. A goal setting which is a convincing solution for the industry 4.0 and the internet.

AIM wants to work with this powerful partner in order to standardize the AutoID systems together with the OPC-UA. This cooperation including a press appearance of both sides will be presented at the Hannover Exhibition on April 9th. At the same time a press release will appear on the AIM website.
